Metro-East Interfaith Partnership

Metro-East Interfaith Partnership began after 9/11 when a Catholic woman slipped a note under the door of the local mosque in Belleville-Swansea starting her concerns about the misconceptions being spread about Islam. The note opened the door for open and honest dialogue and in an effort to build bridges of trust, understanding and respect for the various religions and faiths in our Illinois metro-east communities.

We partner with the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows (Belleville, Illinois), Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis, McKendree University, Lebanon, IL, as well as support the Center for Sustainable Living at SIUE.

Steering Committee: The Metro-East Interfaith Partnership Steering Committee meets on the second Monday of every other month to develop programs and events and select books for discussion.

The Metro-East Interfaith Partnership is its own 501(c)(3) that operates in collaboration with Interfaith Partnership of Greater St. Louis. Their web presence can be found here.
